The Bivalve Throwdown objective is simple: pure, tasty fun. The Houston Chowhounds foodie event draws the best chefs from all over the city who bring their A-game in the hopes of taking mussel-bound glory. For guests in addition to the plentiful eats the throwdown will include an oyster shucking contest and an amateur battle for the best gumbo.

Patrons and guests can dig in to seafood prepared by Reef and Louisiana Foods and enjoy several raw oyster bars. A limited drink menu will also be available from Reef's lounge.

Tickets are available online, as are guidelines for entry into the oyster competition, shucking contest or amateur gumbo gauntlet.
