The Houston Choreographers: Generation Next Gala Concert is the culmination of a competition featuring dance performances by local high-school-age choreographers. Students submitted a video or DVD of their original choreography to a panel of judges from the Houston professional dance community. The panel chose the dances that will be presented at the gala concert, and the students are responsible for every aspect of their work, including their sets, costumes, lighting, and choreography.

Featured Choreographers Include: Rebecca Bagley, Catalina Casar, Emily Cohen, Hutch Hagendorf, Kenny Ky, Laureen Llanto, Nancy Martinez, Caroline Meyerson, Marina Miller, Sazmin Momin, Rachel Renier and Leah Slavens

Uptown Dance Company will make a guest appearance.
