Houston Cecilia Chamber Choir presents "American Voices"

Houston Cecilia Chamber Choir

The Houston Cecilia Chamber Choir celebrates the music of American composers with selections composed by Aaron Copland, Randall Thompson, Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre, Billy Joel and Moses Hogan. The concert will feature a choral premiere of Ann Gebuhr's Triptych. Her music has been performed by the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony and the Filharmonie George Enescu (Bucharest, Romania), among others.

Gebuhr is a MacDowell Colony Fellow and the first woman to be awarded the Creative Artist Award in Composition by the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County. The chorus is conducted by the newly-appointed artistic director, Kevin M. Klotz. Klotz is also music minister at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land and a choral conducting doctoral candidate at the University of Houston.
