Houston Camerata and the Ad Deum Dance Company will expand artistic boundaries with a unique choral music and dance interpretation of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. Rossini's Mass is a choral gem from one of opera’s greatest composers, but it is far from traditional dance music. While the singers and players are striving to make music with their voices and instruments, the dancers will use considerable creativity to bring the music to life with their choreography by Ad Deum's founder Randall Flinn. Houston Camerata presents the piece in a chamber instrumentation for choir, soloists with accompaniment of piano and organ.
The soloists will include Amanda Menzie, soprano; Cecilia Duarte, mezzo-soprano; Alexander Scheuermann, tenor; James Rodriguez, bass; Sheila Keyes, piano; Jeffrey Cooper, organ; Randall Flinn, choreography; and Paulo Gomes, conductor.
This event will be performed at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on April 21 and at Westbury Baptist Church on April 22.
