A ribbon cutting celebration for the new Gateway on Cullen BCycle Station will be held with Council Member Robert Gallegos, Houston Bike Share, and the Houston Planning & Development Department. Beverages will be donated by 8th Wonder Brewery.
As Houston Bike Share continues to grow the Houston BCycle network, they are beginning to focus on adding stations to local university campuses, offering bike share as a method of transportation for students at the University of Houston, Rice University, Texas Southern University, UHD and Houston Community College. In July, a BCycle station was added at the Gateway on Cullen Apartments, a new student apartment complex built specifically for University of Houston and Texas Southern University students. Later this year six stations will be installed on University of Houston’s campus and three stations on Texas Southern University’s Campus. These new stations will connect students to dorms, academic and sports facilities on campus and allow them to venture off of campus to other areas with BCycle stations across Houston. Additionally, Houston BCycle will offer special discounted student memberships.
