A Homebrewer’s tutorial with DeFalco’s and Southern Star Brewery. Southern Star will work with attendees to “clone” of one of their signature beers. Beaver’s Ice House and The Petrol Station
Chef Jonathan Jones and Ben Fullelove fold out an evening of food and beer. It begins with a beer cocktail reception followed by a 5-course dinner featuring dishes showcasing Jonathan’s passion for all things rubbed, aged, smoked and slow-cooked paired with craft beer selections hand-picked by Ben. Ten percent of the proceeds of this dinner will go to benefit Live It BIG, Inc., hosts of the Monsters Of Beer Charity Festival. Starts at 7 p.m., meals are $70 per person.

Connoisseur tasting with Chris Campana of Artisanal Imports (Austin, TX). Chris will walk you through his incredible portfolio of beers including Urthel (Belgium), Malheur (Belgium), Sunner (Germany), Triple Karmeliet (Belgium), Koningshoeven (Belgium) and Tilburg (Netherlands). Tuesday
Canopy and Saint Arnold Brewery
Spend an evening with Brock Wagner of Saint Arnold Brewery and the imaginative, seasonal food prepared by Claire Smith. Mr. Wagner will pair Saint Arnold’s beers with regional food prepared by Smith. Connoisseur tasting with Audrey Keifer of Artisanal Beverage Company (Dallas). Audrey will be on hand to discuss their outstanding portfolio of beers including Brew Dog (Scotland), Cooper’s (Australia), Hofbrau (Germany), North Coast (California), and Unibroue (Canada). Wednesday
Catalan and Anvil Bar & Refuge
Culinary explorer Chris Shepherd and Anvil co-owner and beer nerd Kevin Floyd team up for an evening of bold flavors. Diners will sip on handpicked craft beer selections by Floyd paired with courses of Shepherd’s imaginative American cuisine, while enjoying Floyd’s signature style of imparting his extensive knowledge of beer via amusing anecdotes and historical factoids. A night of stone brewing! Stone pint glasses will be available with specials on 4-5 Stone beers all night! Come visit with Jason Armstrong of Stone Brewing for this special occasion.

“Big Beer” Formal tasting with Ash Rowell of Duff Distributors and Joe Jackson of The Ginger Man Pub. Guests will enjoy beers from Moylan’s, Bear Republic, Brew Dog, Pike Brewery and Southern Star. The tasting will focus on quality high-alcohol beer with a concentration on Barley wines and Imperial Stouts. Thursday
Divino Italian Restaurant and Pike Brewing
Enjoy the carefully prepared in-house specialties of Chef Patrick McCray and the made-to-be-paired-with-food beers from Pike Brewing. Of special note, Pike is bringing their Old Bawdy barley wine just for the occasion. Because Pike brews their beers with food pairings in mind, the beers will pair wonderfully with this evening’s Italian cuisine.

Pumpkin Beer Throwdown – if you are a homebrewer and would like to test your skills against others, contact The Petrol Station at 713-957-2875 for the rules of this event – a first of its kind in Houston. Open to the public, of course.

Connoisseur tasting with Nadine Jones of Brooklyn Brewery. Nadine will discuss the array of award-winning beers from Brooklyn Brewery. In keeping with Garret Oliver’s (Brooklyn’s Master Brewer) book, “The Brewmaster’s Table,” there will be a cooking demonstration with beer and instructional lecture regarding designing your meals around your beer of choice. Vic & Anthony’s and Brew Dog Brewery
The third in a series of well-crafted and highly anticipated beer dinners, Chef Carlos Rodriguez will be at it again, this time featuring the beers of the indomitable Brewdog Brewery of Scotland. Famous for its End of History, Sink the Bismarck and Tactical Nuclear Penguin beers – this brewery is the hands-down maverick of the brewing world. Anvil Bar & Refuge
Gravity Cask 2010: This event will feature beers custom-made for Anvil Bar & Refuge. You will not find these beers any place else. The rare and unique casks will come from local and continental European breweries, including these one-of-a-kind beers: Southern Star Smoked Porter - originally brewed for the pro-am competition at the Great American Beer Festival, Kevin Floyd asked that this cask be flavored with cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans and cask-conditioned Independence Oatmeal Stout infudes with Anvil’s signature Bourbon Cheries. Brenner’s Beer Festival
Brenner’s Steakhouse on the Bayou will be playing host to several local and regional craft breweries during its first beer festival from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and more than 50 beers will be offered in 3 oz. tastings.
