In honor of HBU Provost John Mark Reynolds, the Department of Music will present a gala evening of music with Schola Cantorum, the Kerr High School Cambiata Orchestra and dancers from the University of Oklahoma Festival Ballet, a nationally ranked ensemble making its Houston debut.

The Kerr High School Orchestra will open the program with an instrumental selection, and Schola Cantorum and soloists from HBU's auditioned choir will sing the Franz Schubert Mass in G. The dancers from the University of Oklahoma, under the direction of Mary Margaret Holt — a former dancer with the Houston Ballet, and Jeremy Lindberg, associate professor of ballet in the School of Dance — will dance to two selections from Handel's Water Music and will join Schola Cantorum in dancing to Benjamin Britten's Choral Dances from his opera Gloriana.

Brett Young, a recent graduate of the program, will also dance courtesy of The Texas Ballet Theatre, Ben Stevenson, artistic director.
