Jiří Kylián's Sinfonietta is an exuberant tribute to the Czech choreographer's homeland. Ballet Imperial is George Balanchine's homage to St. Petersburg, to the choreographer Marius Petipa, who he referred to as "the father of classic ballet," and to Russia's greatest composer, Peter Tchaikovsky.
