Houston Arts Alliance's Folklife + Civic Engagement program in partnership with Asia Society Texas Center presents Voices of the Spirit VI. Celebrating devotional music from Houston's diverse faith communities, this concert features an Islamic call to prayer by Mu'ezzin Ameer Abuhalimeh of the Da'Wah Islamic Center; Mariachi Estrellas de Mexico with a repertoire of alabanzas in adoration of the Virgin of Guadalupe; Neak Porn Ensemble, performing traditional Cambodian Buddhist temple music; and Walagante, a Garifuna group combining traditional percussion, chorus and dance.
