The event features dragon boats, yachts, canoes, kayaks and more. "Afloat!" is presented by the Houston Arts Alliance in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership as part of Transported + Renewed, a three-month celebration that focuses on Houston's playful and artful obsession with all forms of transportation.
Transported + Renewed is a major creative placemaking project that celebrates the centennial of the Port of Houston and the inauguration of the Houston METRO East End Light Rail Line by presenting a mix of community-based and contemporary art projects in the city's historic East End.
Update: Due to expected inclement weather, the event originally scheduled for Sept. 13 has been moved to Oct. 4 and will take place in conjunction with the Buffalo Bayou Shrimp Festival.
