The Houston Area Women’s Center will host its 29th annual Race Against Violence, presented by Verizon. This event includes a competitive 5K run and walk, a Kids Fun Run, and a post-race family festival on the AIG Campus at Whole Foods-Montrose. It’s also a chance for the community to join together and let survivors of domestic and sexual violence know that they are not alone.
The 5K race will begin promptly to be followed by the Kids Fun Run will begin at approximately 8:30 am. $500 cash prizes will be awarded to overall and masters winners, female and male, $250 cash prizes to second place finishers, and $50 Luke’s Locker gift certificates to the third place finishers. Every Kids Fun Run participant will receive a finisher’s medal.
