It's time to "Stand Up and Roar" against domestic and sexual violence at the Houston Area Women's Center's 2014 Spring Gala featuring Comedian Margaret Cho. This year's event includes entertainment by Latin rock band Mango Punch. The evening, emceed by Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan, will kick off with a VIP reception followed by cocktails.

An accomplished entertainer, Cho has received three Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album and has had two shows debut Off Broadway. She launched her television career in 1994 with All American Girl, followed by one of the first reality sitcoms to air on VH1, The Cho Show. She currently stars in Drop Dead Diva, which airs on the Lifetime network, and she's recently been cast in a new Tina Fey comedy that will debut this fall on FOX.

This Houston Area Women's Center event will continue the annual tradition of recognizing outstanding community and corporate citizens. Retired Marathon Oil CFO Janet Clark will be recognized as the Community Honoree for her commitment to philanthropy and her trailblazing achievements as a corporate executive. Bank of America, a longtime supporter of the Women's Center's mission, will be this year's Corporate Honoree.
