The Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) will celebrate 49 years of providing services to the Greater Houston community with its Equal Opportunity Day Gala featuring a dinner, honoree recognition and entertainment. The Gala is a key fundraiser benefiting HAUL’s ongoing programs that serve the Houston community in areas such as workforce and entrepreneurship, housing and community service, education, and workforce training and health advocacy.
The event's honorees include Ms. Sallie Sargent and Ms. Cheryl Cruezot – Marguerite Ross Barnett Leadership Award; Mr. & Mrs. Troi and Kelley Taylor – Gerald Hines Corporate Award; The Houston Astros – Heritage Award; and Mr. Ray B. Shackelford – Empowerment Award.
