Long-time Houston Archeological Society member Wilson W. "Dub" Crook will discuss some exciting new discoveries that he and his colleague Mark Hughston have made recently at archeological sites along the East Fork of the Trinity River. Crook's presentation, titled "Some Unique New Discoveries from Late Prehistoric Sites along the East Fork of the Trinity," will include discussions on three new pottery vessels, a zoomorphic lithic artifact found in a cache of tools, and an engraved slate gorget.
Dub will not only describe the discoveries but also speculate on their implications for trade with the Caddo peoples in East Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
