HomeCooked in Houston features Nigerian-inspired contemporary cuisine, a fusion of traditional Nigerian flavors, with undertones of Lagos street food in modern contemporary cooking. Their pop-up restaurant draws inspiration from smoking, an age-old traditional method of cooking in Nigeria and other parts of the world. The need to keep food for long periods of time birthed smoking of meats to dehydration for preservation. Though smoking was developed for a functional purpose, the flavor is purely magical on meats and fish. It's therefore no surprise that smoked meats are a staple in many traditional Nigerian dishes.

The pop-up event will feature a four-course dinner and a family-style brunch. The dinner starts with elements of Lagos street food reinvented into a fresh and flavorful pallet and finishes with familiar contemporary dishes cooked with undertones of Nigerian flavors. The brunch features a medley of smoked poultry seasoned with Nigerian spices, their famous gàrrí fried chicken, served with rich and fluffy red velvet pancakes + crème cheese. Brunch and dinner service is accompanied with free wine, champagne, mimosas and belinis + BYOB.
