Holocaust Museum Houston will host soprano/composer Patrice Michaels, along with acclaimed pianist Andrew Harley, in a performance of Notorious RBG in Song.
Michaels is the daughter-in-law of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her 75-minute dramatic concert is a salute to the life and work of the legal pioneer. The nine-song cycle, The Long View: A Portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Nine Songs, is the centerpiece of the show. Written in an engaging and lively jazz-meets-classical style, it illuminates key aspects of Justice Ginsburg’s personal and professional life through letters, remembrances, conversations and event Court opinions.
The musical performance is held in conjunction with the exhibition Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, on view in the Josef and Edith Mincberg Gallery at HMH through July 31. The Museum is only the fifth location in the country to host the exhibition and the only stop in Texas.
