Many Houstonians are unaware that there were actually six Allen brothers, a sister and their parents who all settled in the Bayou City. Paul Mabry, a sixth-generation Houstonian and a descendant of the founding Allen family, will provide an informal, thoroughly non-academic look at the whole of the Allen family's role in early Houston.

Mabry is a former Director of Communications for the City of Houston and served the Kathy Whitmire administration. In his semi-retirement, he is Executive Director of Rugby Texas and is a member of the Harris County Appraisal Review Board.

If you would like to reserve a box lunch for this lecture, please contact Elizabeth Martin by 11 am on August 19.
