Dedicated to serving the needs of local musicians, Heights Guitar Tech is opening after Mitch Burman, rock star and owner of the Jet Lounge, discovered that there was a need in the music community for a venue that could quickly repair guitars. Burman partnered with music photographer and laser light show artist Steve Boriack of SMB Design to open a quality repair shop in Houston. 

Heights Guitar Tech will also offer music lessons for those looking to learn or to improve their abilities, with instructors such as Mark White, bass player for the five-times platinum award-winning band The Spin Doctors. Jimmie Emerson, guitar tech for REO Speedwagon, will also be on board to perform guitar setups and repairs; he will join the team permanently full-time in the fall.

The grand opening celebration will feature live music performances by local and internationally known musicians, with an open mike for guests to join in or play a song or two, along with barbecue, beer and giveaways featured every half-hour  between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
