Soprano Misha Penton, founder and artistic director of Divergence Vocal Theater, displays her versatility in this program of art songs by French composer Francis Poulenc and his American advocates Christopher Berg and Ned Rorem. The concert will feature Berg's song cycle Hommage a Francis Poulenc based on poems by French surrealist writer Robert Desnos, Poulenc's whimsical song cycle La Courte Paille and Ned Rorem's imposing large scale song cycle for soprano, cello and piano, Last Poems of Wallace Stevens.

Penton will be joined by HCC chamber music director and pianist Sherry Cheng and Houston Symphony cellist Anthony Kitai.
