As it has for more than 30 years, this annual concert presents students the opportunity to work with outstanding choreographers and to showcase Houston's young professional companies. This year Heather Samuelson, an independent choreographer and an instructor at Stephen F. Austin University, has created a dance for the company, as has jhon r. stronks, artistic director of "there ...in the sunlight." Contemporary Dance. ChinaCat Dance artistic director Maggie Lasher set two pieces including a solo work inspired by Prince's "Purple Rain."
