Each year, the Gulen Institute hosts the Dialogue of Civilizations Platform, an academic workshop that brings together scholars from various disciplines, community leaders and government officials to discuss the problems facing the global community.
This year's speakers include: Jodi Berger-Cardoso, UH assistant professor in the Graduate College of Social Work; Jean Kantambu Latting, UH professor emeritus in the Graduate College of Social Work; Shaheen Akter, assistant professor Shahjalal University of Science and Technology; Joyce James of the Center for the Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities; Harrell Rodgers - UH professor in the Department of Political Science; John W. McDonald, chairman and CEO of The Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy; David Sobek, Lousiana State University associate professor in the Department of Political Science; Alia Turki Al-Rabeo, journalist; Metin Cetiner, executive director Helping Hands; Salah Mahdi, economic researcher, Riyadh Chamber of Commerce; Eusebius Small, University of Texas at Arlington assistant professor in the School of Social Work; and Jaya Sarkar, Trickle Up, vice president of programs.
