Gspot Gallery presents Krista Birnbaum: Courage opening reception

eventdetail

Krista Birnbuam's work is motivated by a desire to understand her own relationship with nature: simultaneous needs to both be unified with and in control of the natural world. Nearly five years ago, she held a baby girl and started her journey into motherhood.

In these past years, a spotlight focused on all the flaws in her strongly held beliefs on gender, morality, and human instinct. Her desire to sculpt and design nature, previously focused on mice and plants, now had a new human subject. The work in Courage reflects on “strong female characters,” online Mommy Boards, and the color pink.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through August 3.
