Gremillion &Co. Fine Art, Inc. will present Houston-based artist Joan Steinman and will host a reception of new work in an exhibition titled The Mill

The Beaumont Rice Mill, in Beaumont, Texas, inspires the paintings of the Mill. Mrs. Steinman's great-grandfather Joseph Eloi Broussard started the Mill in 1892. She grew up aware of the Mill, but as an adult the Mill became a gathering place for the many cousins who would come back to Beaumont for visits. Each time she toured the mill, she was thrilled by the size and complexity of the structure. The old equipment and massive beams, the colors and the smells all seem animated to her.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through June 18.
