The Greater Houston Teen Book Convention — TeenBookCon — is a free, all-day event bringing together Houston-area teens with authors and illustrators of young adult fiction and graphic novels. The event will feature 28 of the most popular and award-winning authors and illustrators of young adult fiction and graphic novels in the country, including award-winners Gayle Forman as the opening keynote speaker and David Levithan and Ally Carter, who will co-close TeenBookCon.
Author of eight books for young adults, Forman is best known for If I Stay duo, the first of which is now a major motion picture. David Levithan is the author or co-author of 18 books for teens and adults, including Two Boys Kissing, which was named to the 2013 National Book Award Longlist. Carter has published 10 young adult novels and is best known for her multi-award winning Gallagher Girls series.
Throughout the day, Forman, Levithan and Carter will join a host of celebrated authors on panel discussions ranging from realistic fiction to fantasy, science fiction to action/adventure, love stories to graphic novels.
