The launch party of Goethe Pop Up Houston marks the opening of a print exhibition of Otto Schubert’s field postcards. While serving in World War I, Schubert painted on dozens of military-issued postcards – producing a kind of visual diary of his war experiences on the Western Front.
University of Houston professor Dr. Irene Guenther will give a talk contextualizing Schubert’s works within the wider framework of World War One art and its resonance today.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until February 22.
