Pop Up Kino, a monthly German film series, presents Werner Herzog's Aguirre, the Wrath of God. Peru 1560. Driven by the hunger for power and wealth, a troop of conquistadors led by Lope de Aguirre journey through the Amazonian jungle in search of the legendary city of El Dorado. However, their journey quickly falls victim to famine, illness, violence, and madness.

The film will be introduced by University of Houston Professor Dr. Sandra Frieden. A discussion will follow the screening.
