"Go Pig! Or Go Home!" Suckling Pig Throwdown benefiting Last Organic Outpost

Bringing back an elite cast of Texas top chefs, "Go Pig! Or Go Home!" is a team-driven competition in which chefs prepare a whole suckling pig in hopes of being named Houston's Pig Throwdown King.

Among the 16 chefs competing are Manabu Horiuchi of Kata Robata, Matt Marcus of Eatsie Boys, Gabriel Medina of Soma Sushi, Ryan Hildebrand of Triniti, John Sheely of Mockingbird Bistro and Osteria Mazzantini, Ronnie Killen of Killen's Steakhouse and Killen's Barbecue, Randy Evans and Jean Philippe Gaston of Haven and Cove, Ryan Pera of Revival and Coltivare and Kaz Edwards of Uchi. 

A committee of judges will decide on winners based on originality, taste and presentation. There will also be a people's choice award based on votes from those attending. The winner of People's Choice takes home the coveted Golden Pig trophy.

Beer will be provided by Houston's own 8th Wonder Brewery. There will also be a bar with signature cocktails, live music and free T-shirts.

A portion of the day's proceeds will go to Last Organic Outpost, a charitable organization that generates healthy communities and establishes a local food economy in Houston's underserved neighborhoods through urban farming and farm-based art and education.
