Girls Inc. of Greater Houston and The Ensemble Theatre are partnering to celebrate the diverse stories of Houston’s trailblazing women and girls. Growing Up Girl: Houston Then & Now is a panel discussion and community conversation that features several generations of women and girls sharing their life experiences, helping to define what it meant to be a girl in the past and what it is like now, and visioning what it could mean in the future. Each of the panelists grew up in different neighborhoods and times in Houston.

Leading the conversation will be Mrs. Earlie Whitehead; her daughter, LaVondia Menephee; and granddaughter, Sheree Menafee; mothers and daughters Veronica and Amelia Foley, and Sydney Dao and London Hastings.
