Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is raising tomorrow’s generation of women leaders while honoring those who exemplify its values today at their annual fundraising luncheon, Success to Significance. They will be joined by Houston's top female leaders as they explore what it takes to be a trailblazer for women, lessons they’ve learned and the power and promise within female leaders. Andrea Bastiani Archibald, PhD, developmental psychologist, and chief girl and family engagement officer for Girl Scouts of the USA will join this event.
Dr. Bastiani Archibald serves as an authority on girls’ and women’s leadership development, parenting and family dynamics, and cultural influences on girls, among other topics. Girl Scouts unleashes the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in every girl, preparing her for a lifetime of leadership. This luncheon is the Council’s signature fundraiser which helps to ensure Girl Scouting is available to all girls across our 26 county jurisdiction in southeast Texas. This year we helped 58,086 girls thrive at home, at school and in their communities thanks to the support of 16,262 volunteers. Funds may benefit many areas, including but not limited to outreach programs, camp scholarships, outdoor programs, conservation, careers and technology, STEM, and multicultural initiatives.
