The Galveston Historical Foundation will hold a dedication ceremony through the Texas Historical Commission to formally recognize the events in Galveston that occurred on June 19, 1865, as having historical significance and meaning to the citizens of Texas. After the ceremony, visitors are invited to enjoy live entertainment sponsored by the Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau.
