Galveston Arts Center will host the return of Conversations @ The Center with artists Alex Goss and J Hill presenting. This year’s theme will be Intersections: Art, Science and Technology and will consist of five monthly presentations given by eight professionals.

Conversations @ The Center is an informal lecture series that provides insight into the artistic process and engages audiences in dialogue about visual art. The series features artists and other arts professionals who speak about their work and discuss timely issues in contemporary art. The theme for the 2017 series, Intersections:  Art, Science and Technology, aims to highlight the synergistic link between creative and scientific ideas, and explore some of the ways professional and artistic practices exist at the intersections of these fields.

Alex Goss is a Houston artist and arts educator who utilizes modern industrial materials and technology such as laser cutting, CNC routing and 3-D printing in his artwork.

J Hill is a multidisciplinary Houston artist and arts educator who employs both traditional sculptural materials and digital fabrication technology and incorporates new media such as audio, video, and Internet radio.
