galleryHOMELAND will present Typically Esoteric, a collection of site specific sculptures and installations focused on environment and surrounding. Through the exploration of materials and space each artist brings forth a fresh collection of works branching further from their original practices.

Iva Kinnaird, recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, makes work that celebrates and amplifies the theatrics of destruction, self awareness of danger, and the terrible non action of waiting.  Bret Shirley, with his degree from Pratt Institute, works intensely with chemistry, odd and new materials, and its place within its surrounding. Utilizing and revitalizing fabricated or found materials, Shirley creates dazzling and smart installations and sculptural moments. Together Shirley's and Kinnaird's works come together to create an impressive and thoughtful environment within the galleryHOMELAND space.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through August 9.
