Gallery Jatad will present its next installment in the conversation between traditional African Art and Contemporary Art with Lineal. Antique wooden door and window panels from West Africa are paired with collage works from Jacqueline Dee Parker and print works from Jonathan Higgins. All play with design and balance within a rectangular structure with shape, form and texture crossing boundaries of culture and creating a sense of timelessness. The African doors and window panels range from the striking simplicity of the non-ornate, to the sophisticated aesthetic of the abstract and figurative. Parker’s collage works are an abstract echo of constructed spaces. Higgin’s prints investigate geometry and process.

Following the opening reception, the exhibition continues through July 25. The works of Jacqueline Dee Parker are exhibited courtesy of Hooks-Epstein Galleries.
