Masters of illusion, Chadwick & Spector, will exhibit their Houston Art Alliance Individual Grant award-winning "Museum Anatomy – The German Works," photos, videos and wall reliefs at G-Spot Gallery.
Collaborative artists Chadwick & Spector (Chadwick Gray & Laura Spector) have spent 20 years traveling the world in search of hidden and destroyed paintings from museum basements. Together, they re-imagine lost images onto contorted nude bodies. Recently, their focus has been re-inventing paintings stolen by Nazis during WW2. Their upcoming show is a collaboration with the Johann Friedrich Danniell Museum in Salzwedel, Germany.
"Museum Anatomy" has been created in conjunction with museums in 14 countries. The artwork meshes together pre-19th century painting and contemporary art.
