Chefs and food lovers will gather to support Bella-Katherine Curtis, whose beloved pie shop of 22 years was destroyed by a fire last weekend, two days after the bakery produced 2,000 pies for Thanksgiving. The much-loved baker supplies pies for many of Houston's restaurants as well. The shop was uninsured.
Admission includes barbecue from Ronnie Killen of Killen's BBQ plus more great food and beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Co., in addition to various forms of musical entertainment. There will also be a bake sale and silent auction.
Chefs involved include Chris Shepherd of Underbelly, Randy Evans of Haven, Kevin Naderi of Roost and pastry chefs Samantha Mendoza from Triniti, Johnny Wesley of Mr. Peeples, Rebecca Masson of Fluff Bake Bar and former Houstonian Plinio Sandalio from the AT&T Conference Center in Austin. Sysco is lending support as well.
