Friends of Woodland Park will present a fundraiser for Firefly Field, a sculptural enhancement consisting of three 17-foot tall metal trees each with two unique fireflies with fully programmable LED lights. Firefly Field, by Houston sculptor Dylan Conner, pays homage to the park’s unique riparian forest and bayou. In the shadow of downtown and bordered by the frenetic freeways of Interstate 10 and Interstate 45, Firefly Field at Woodland Park will guide visitors to a magical respite from the noise and concrete of urbanization.
The event will be family friendly with food trucks, live music, and children’s activities.
