The Friends of the Texas Medical Center Library will host their annual book and author fundraiser. Dr. Nancy Beck Young, author and professor of history at the University of Houston, is the guest speaker. Frances Goff, the subject of the book, was very instrumental in the establishment of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Bryant Boutwell, also a professor and historian, knew Ms. Goff and will offer opening remarks. There will be spirits, a buffet dinner, and a silent auction. Valet parking is included. Proceeds benefit the Texas Medical Center Library.
