Friends of Spring Branch Memorial Library will host its annual Plant & Book Festival, featuring a wide selection of books and plants, coupons for area businesses and children’s activities.

Gently used children’s books and adult fiction and nonfiction, from cooking and history to religion and the classics, will be available at bargain prices. Meanwhile, this is a great opportunity to replace plants lost in the freeze or spruce up the garden with the wonderful deals in the plant sale, including bedding, flowering, exotic, indoor and outdoor plants and hanging baskets.

A silent auction features rare books, including President George W. Bush's "Decision Points," a signed copy of William Sterling’s “Trails and Trials of a Texas Ranger,” and a beautiful, first edition copy of Larry McMurtry’s “Custer.” Additionally, there will be a sale of coupons and gift certificates for local businesses and restaurants.

With H-E-B’s Buddy making an appearance, children’s activities and refreshments from nearby Sweet Tomatoes, the event makes for a great visit for the whole family.

Proceeds from the event are used to buy e-books and children’s books and for summer programming and beautification of the library, which is part of the Harris County Library System.
