Join Friends of Mandell Park for "Barefoot in the Park," an evening of fun, friends and fundraising. For the kids there will be soap bubble painting, leaf rubbing, kite decorating and flying and tile painting. For all, the Watercolor Art Society Houston will be painting. Keeping with tradition there will be herbs and other plants for sale by Houston nurseries. Eatsie Boys food truck plus others will sell food with a portion of the proceeds going towards the park's $1 million fundraising goal.

A community picnic will be complemented by entertainment such as music, poetry reading, children's book reading. After sunset, guests will enjoy a screening of the movie classic Barefoot in the Park.
