Head to the George R. Brown Convention Center for the city's largest community bargain book sale.
Friends of the Houston Public Library will be selling more than 80,000 books at the 33rd Annual Bargain Book Sale at bargain prices — $2 per hardcover and $1 per paperback. There's a members-only preview on April 23 from 4:30 - 9 p.m. (non-members can join on-site for $20) and free admission to all on Saturday, 9 - 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 - 4 p.m. Fiesta will provide bags on Sunday for Bag Day, when a bag full of books goes for a mere $10.
It's the perfect place to stock up before heading across the street to Discovery Green and getting lost in a book.
