Spruce up the garden and escape with a good book. Plants of every kind and color and a broad range of books will be on sale at this year's two-day Plant and Book Festival in aid of Spring Branch Memorial Library.

Hosted by Friends of the Harris County Spring Branch Memorial Library, the festival offers bargain price books for adults and children in many categories, from cooking and history to religion and the classics. A wide selection of bedding, flowering, exotic, indoor and outdoor plants as well as hanging baskets are also available. In addition, there will be an opportunity to bid on rare and first edition books in a silent auction.

Sweet Tomatoes will provide refreshments while ukulele player Dick Jeffers will provide musical entertainment on Saturday.

Proceeds from the festival will be used to buy additional materials, such as e-books, expand programs for children and beautify the library, considered to be a neighborhood gem.
