Fourth annual Houston History Book Fair & Symposium

Houston Arts and Media, the Houston Metropolitan Research Center of the Houston Public Library and Story Sloane's Gallery will host the fourth annual Houston History Book Fair & Symposium.

The comprehensive symposium is dedicated to the history of Southeast Texas, with more two dozen authors of regional history attending. Every half hour during the symposium, different authors will speak about the topics of their works. Book topics are widely varied, from specific communities to police and labor histories to railroads.

With the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, the event will present two new books: Bill Minutaglio and Steven L. Davis, authors of Dallas 1963; and Franklin Griffin, author of Trial by Fire: from Phenix City to Dallas. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
