It's that time of year again when every dog has its day and some of the city's talented chefs support an evening of culinary, canine fun. One-of-a-kind gingerbread/edible doghouses will be on display, judged on creativity and overall appeal, then auctioned off to benefit Lucky Dog Rescue.

Media and VIP judges will determine who is best in show as Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston executive chef Peter Laufer welcomes a pack of participants, including Susan Molzan of Petite Sweets, Kevin Bryant of L'Olivier, Monica Glenn from Uchi, Neal Cox from The Houstonian, Johnny Wesley of Killen's Steakhouse, Matthew Zoch of Prego, Samantha Mendoza of Triniti and David Coffman of Katsuya. Guests will enjoy a sampling of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, courtesy of Royals Sonesta Hotel Houston.

Lucky Dog Rescue is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to providing rescue services, vet care, foster care and adoptive placement to stray and abandoned dogs.
