Salsa y Salud combines high-energy salsa hits and classics with soulful dancing, featuring specially arranged music for the evening with many of the selections being world premieres. Original choreography and a cast of over 50 makes this a memorable evening for the entire family.

Celebrating its 9th Anniversary, Salsa y Salud is a citywide cultural and artistic initiative using an interactive performance as a way to positively impact the community. A collaborative presentation of the Foundation for Modern Music, Flamart, Strictly Street Salsa, American Heart Association, and others, it focuses on using artistic expression, in this case salsa, to promote community awareness and improvement in areas such as arts education, health, community building, and others.

2019’s show features the work of choreographer and dancer Reinaldo Costa (who trained in Cuba and was a member of the professional company at the Tropicana) and music director Jorge “Cro-Cro” Orta, who has toured extensively in Africa, the Americas, and Europe with many groups including the famed Grupo Niche.
