Anne Jensen, originally from Norway, now calls Houston home and paints in her space at Spring Street Studios. She will be debuting a new body of work for this event.

Before moving to Houston in 2006, Jensen was born in Bergen, Norway, spending her formative years in various Norwegian cities. After her first career as a kindergarten teacher, Jensen tried her hand at knitting and weaving, which she mastered to the degree that she became a weaving instructor. When Jensen entered the world of drawing and painting, she discovered her true artistic home. Soon after beginning she was encouraged by a mentor to further develop her talent, studying under an artist in Bergen before eventually enrolling in private art school for three years, which is when she made a clean break -- selling her loom, weaving books and all her weaving supplies in favor of an easel. Inspired by the properties of light and color, she now paints prolifically.
