Under the direction of associate conductor Dominique Røyem, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra presents a magical musical representation of some of the most beloved fairy tales when it takes the stage for "Once Upon a Time." Concertgoers will fall into a fairy tale state of mind when they hear Sleeping Beauty Waltz by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Billy the Kid by Aaron Copland, Paul Bunyan Suite by William Bergsma and selections from Frederick Loewe's Camelot.

The FBSO will also perform Once Upon a Time: 5 Fairy Tales for Orchestra by Bernard Rogers, which illustrates some of the classic Andrew Land and Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Among the featured selections are The Tinder-Box Soldier, The Song of Rapunzel, The Story of a Darning Needle, Dance of the Twelve Princesses and The Ride of Koschei the Deathless, which features a character from Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird.
