Larry Callies, founder of The Black Cowboy Museum in Rosenberg, will bring the Old West to life, helping the audience better understand the western experience and the rich legacy of the black cowboy. Callies will talk about the history of black cowboys, from 1820 to the 1950s.
Guests can hear stories of some of the black cowboys who made an impact on the western frontier, including Bass Reeves, Nat Love, and Bill Pickett. Various western artifacts from 1818 to the 1960s will be on display. The Black Cowboy Museum is a nonprofit organization launched by Callies in Rosenberg in 2017.
