Flamenco Poets Society presents "Poetry and Music Celebrating Pablo Neruda's Love Poems"

eventdetail
Flamenco Poets Society

The Flamenco Poets Society is celebrating the love poems of Pablo Neruda — who in 1971 received the Nobel Prize for Literature — that he wrote to his most beloved wife, Matilde Urrutia. Neruda has always been cherished for the earthy sensuality and eroticism of his love prose written against the backdrop of Isla Negra — the sea, white sand, delicate flowers, the hot sun and the salty smell of the ocean water are embedded in the text.

The program will feature flamenco guitarist Randy Cordero, singer Paco Garrigues and bilingual poetry readings in Spanish and English by Ben Lind. Guests will also enjoy a silent auction that raises funds for Randy Cordero to purchase a new flamenco guitar.
