Fall Fusion at River Oaks Shopping Center will take guests through a journey of the five senses by showcasing the best in Houston music, cuisine, art, fashion and liquid libations.
Building on jazz and wine traditions, Fall Fusion will feature four stations along West Gray, each with live music from award-winning artists, models showcasing the latest trends, beverages from estate-grown wineries and Texas-brewed ales and bites from some River Oaks restaurants. The Gallery at River Oaks will also display original artworks at each station and hold a drawing inside the gallery for a portrait session valued at $3,000.
Barnes & Noble will feature three book signings by local food and wine authors: Robb Walsh, Daniel D’Agostini and Sandy Wilson. Several stores and restaurants will offer special discounts during the event, including 20% off all merchandise at Jann Wisdom Designs and free shoe shines and discounted haircuts at V’s Barbershop.
Six local bands and musicians include:
Henry Darragh: Well-known jazz musician and his big band;
Jando: Nuevo flamenco rhythms, accompanied by dancers;
Kenneth Scott: Soul singer and songwriter, likened to Ben Harper, Otis Redding and the Black Crowes;
Kristine Mills: Houston Press Music Awards Best Songwriter 2010 and Houston Modern Luxury Magazine’s “Hottest Female Jazz Vocalist” on the 2007 Lust List;
Robert Ellis and the Boys: Houston Press’ Best Country 2010 and recently featured in 002, Free Press Houston, Houston Modern Luxury Magazine and Houston Press;
Spain Colored Orange: psychedelic pop and Houston Press’ Best Band 2006.
Cocktails, beer and wine are sponsored by: La Fuente Winery, Messina Hof, Proximo Spirits, Real Ale Brewery, Riazul Tequila, The Tasting Room and Max’s Wine Dive.
