Faith In Practice, a nonprofit committed to serving the poor of Guatemala through short-term medical missions trips, will host the 2016 Gala, “Called for a Reason.” This event will honor long-term volunteers, Dr. Philip and Linda Johnson. Dr. Johnson, professor and vice chair of general medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School, has been leading Faith In Practice volunteer teams along with his wife, Linda, for more than 10 years.

This Gala celebrates the US and Guatemalan volunteers of Faith In Practice working together to serve the poor of Guatemala. The proceeds from the event will directly support the work of the 1,200 US and 900 Guatemalan volunteers who will bring care to more than 25,000 of the Guatemalan poor through medical, surgical, dental and healthcare teaching missions.
